Tapem Holds Briefing about Disaster Handling for Regional Heads

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD)'s Government Bureau (tapem), held a debriefing related to disaster handling in the Pattern Room on the 2nd floor of Block G Building, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (1/8).

It was participated by all city secretary officials and regents, sub-district and urban village heads.

"Disaster posts at the urban village, sub-district and city level are an anticipation and preparedness in facing floods and post-floods," said City Government Assistant Secretary, Artal Reswan Soewardjo who led the briefing.

BPBD Held Disaster Handling Simulation to SLB Students

In the future, his party would also issue an instruction letter related to disaster handling that appoints the mayor and regent as the leader in charge of the disaster.

This letter aimed to anticipate following up on information from BKMG that on January 10 to 12 there was still the potential for high intensity rain in the Greater Jakarta area.

"So the flood victims handling and the initial anticipation at the regional level led by the mayor and all SKPDs must support the mayor to deal with floods," he stated.

Meanwhile, the representative of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Head Medi H added his party would continue to coordinate with Jakarta BPBD in anticipation of floods and its handling.

"This is also done to anticipate other disasters which can happen at any time in the capital," he stated.
