DPRD Supports City to Conduct Post-Flood Handling

We'll share our solution to the governor as one of the flood handling solutions

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) supported the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts, which is focused on preventing and managing post-flood flooding in the capital.

Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairwoman Zita Anjani said her party made several solutions to overcome the flood along with a number of environmental activist communities to exchange ideas related to flood management through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD).

"Flood handling is good so far. We'll share our solution to the governor as one of the flood handling solutions," she expressed, at City Council Building, Thursday (1/9).

Her party wanted the city to more aggressively provide education and early warning to citizens about the potential of areas stricken by flooding. In this way, this case could be minimized as best as possible.

"Minimally early warning should be exist before three days before the disaster. So there must be education about flood handling. So they can be more alert in season like this," she stressed.
