SDA Ensures Pumps' Condition in Muara Angke Reservoir Pump House

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Department Head, Juani Yusuf ensures all pumps at Muara Angke Reservoir Pump House in Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta are in great condition.

According to him, Muara Angke Reservoir Pump House has 3 stationary pumps. 1 unit has capacity of 1,000 liters per second while 2 units have capacity of 500 meters per second.

"Pumps are in great condition. Muara Angke Reservoir Pump House becomes our main strategy in anticipating tidal flood," he mentioned, Saturday (1/11).

120 Mobile Pumps Alerted to Anticipate Rising Sea Water Surface

Jakarta SDA Department continues to evaluate things to prevent tidal flood since it has potential to cause inundation in settlemetns and roads in coastal areas of North Jakarta, especially Muara Angke.

"After evaluation, we will handle it as soon as possible to prevent another flood to happen," he added.

He informed, his side will be on standby to handle inundation and flood in the area which is caused by high wave, local rain, or heavy water flow from the upstream.

"Overall, we deploy 8,000 SDA Department personnel. 7,500 are from PJLP and 500 from civil apparatuses," he mentioned.
