1,000 Sand Sacks Prepared to Anticipate Tidal Flood in Penjaringan

As many as 1,000 sacks full of sand were prepared to anticipate tidal flood in Penjaringan Sub-district. Based on Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) prediction, sea level will rise on January 9-11 that is potential to cause tidal flood.

Hopefully inundation can be avoided, but with this preparation, we are ready if that happens

Penjaringan Sub-district Secretary, Dwi Pandji Forkiantoro mentioned, his side is focus on installing sand sacks in Kamal Muara, Muara Baru, Muara Angke and Kampung Gusti Pejagalan. North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department also prepared mobile pump to anticipate the tidal flood.

"Recently, we have intensified coordination between three pillars and urban village posts. We need to stay alert," he stated, Wednesday (1/8).

According to him, his side also reactivated monitoring posts in pump houses and several rivers in Penjaringan.

"Hopefully inundation can be avoided, but with this preparation, we are ready if that happens," he said.

Meanwhile, Cilincing Sub-district Head, Muhammad Alwi together with three pillars apparatuses have coordinated about ways to prevent flood and inundation by preparing urban village posts to anticipate the flood.

"Lately, Cilincing is relatively safe from tidal flood. Hopefully, it wouldn't cause inundation," he conveyed.
