Starting February 1, All Transjakarta Bus Passengers Required to Tap in and Tap Out

All Transjakarta buses are now equipped with Tap On Bus (TOB) machines because starting February 1, PT. Transjakarta will implement Tap In Tap Out System for all passengers.  

Customers who are taking Transjakarta bus service should tap in and out thus we can serve them better in the future

PT. Transjakarta Corporate Secretary and Public Relation Division Head, Nadia Diposanjoyo mentioned, all customers who use the service should tap in and out on TOB machine inside the bus.

"Customers who are taking Transjakarta bus service should tap in and out thus we can serve them better in the future. Information that received from tap in and out will help us to create new service formulas or various offers that are in line with our customers preferences, even though it is a free route," she explained, Monday (1/13).

Transjakarta (BSD - Juanda) Cannot Operate Temporarily

According to her, Jaklingko card users will get further discounted rates after taping out on mikrotrans. Although all passengers are required to tap in and out, they can still enjoy the trip for free.

"Customers are no longer given the usual paper ticket, but they should have electronic card to access the bus service," she added.

Here are Transjakarta tour bus and GR bus routes that will implement Tap In Tap Out System: GR1 (Bundaran Senayan - Harmoni), GR2 (Tanah Abang Explorer), BW1 (History of Jakarta), BW2 (Jakarta Modern), BW3 (Art and Culinary), BW4 (Jakarta Skyscrapers), BW5 (Jakarta Open Space and Kalijodo), BW6 (Jakarta Heritage), and BW7 (Jakarta Shopping).

Previously, PT. Transjakarta has finished installing TOB on all non-Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes since December 30, 2019. It means, TOB machine has been installed in 33 routes in total.
