30 High School Students in Penjaringan Create Decorative Lanterns

They (students) are 10th and 11th graders

Some 30 students of SMA in Penjaringan, North Jakarta are creative in decorating lanterns with the theme "the City of Jakarta", which will be exhibited at the Thamrin 10's Food and Creative Park, Central Jakarta.

Activities for Decorating Lanterns of SMAN 111 Coordinator Suryana MD said those students are from two schools with details, 25 students of SMAN 111 and 5 students of SMA Wijaya Kusuma.

"They (students) are 10th and 11th graders," he expressed, Tuesday (1/21).

Before starting the creation, students are given understanding and tips to decorate lanterns, as well as the opportunity to express their hopes in lanterns.

"Each student has one lantern. The size is varied, starting from 50x30, 40x20 and 30x20 cm," he told.

In the meantime, a 10th grade student of SMA Wijaya Kusuma Bunga Nesia admitted she was interested in being involved in this activity as she wanted to be creative in decorating lanterns with pictures of Monas and buildings filled with grass and plants.

"This symbolizes the progress of the city but must pay attention to environmental aspects," he stated.
