As many as 1,165 students from SDN 01, 03, and 05 Kuningan Barat and SDN 05 and 11 Pela Mampang, South Jakarta participated in making ecobrick on Jalan Kuningan 1, Kuningan Barat, Mampang Prapatan.

We can reduce waste using ecobrick method by filling plastic bottle with 500 grams of waste

Ecobrick is a method used to minimize waste using plastic bottle by filling it with inorganic waste until it is really hard and solid.

South Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-department's Community Participation Section Head, Kamil, ecobrick workshop is held to educate students and raise their awareness for the environment by sorting the waste.

"We can reduce waste using ecobrick method by filling plastic bottle with 500 grams of waste. Then those bottles can be used to make various stuffs, such as table and chair," he explained, Thursday (12/19).

Student from SDN 05 Kuningan Barat, Naysila expressed her happiness to be participated in making ecobrick. Because of this workshop, her side plans to continue throwing waste on its place and get used to reduce plastic waste by making ecobrick.

"It is such a great experience. We are taught how to make ecobrick by filling the plastic bottle with plastic packages from coffee, snacks, and others," she explained.
