Central Jakarta Bina Marga Replaces PJU's Electrical Cables

Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-department collects electrical installation data from public street lighting (PJU). This data will be used to replace any damaged and old cable on PJUs.

We need to replace those cables to prevent electrical short circuit

Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-department Head, Rakim Sastranegara mentioned, cables and other supporting devices that are not feasible should be replaced as a part of PJU maintenance.

"In total, there are 29,700 PJUs in Central Jakarta. 30 percent of them contain of old cables that should be replaced," he conveyed, Wednesday (1/29).

He assessed, cable replacement is important to optimize street lighting service. Besides, it is also important for people's safety because there are 10 year old cables on several PJUs.

"We need to replace those cables to prevent electrical short circuit. With this data, we can replace infeasible cables," he said.
