PPKUKM Targets to Train 43,000 People to Be Jakpreneurs This Year

This year, Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Department is targeting to train 43,000 Jakartans to be Jakpreneur or entrepreneur under PPKUKM Department. Jakpreneur consists of small medium entrepreneur (UKM) and small medium industry (IKM).

We will start the training from March

Jakarta PPKUKM Department Acting Head, Elizabeth Ratu Rante Allo stated, her side plans to realize the target by holding 1,500 trainings in 2020. It consists of several classes that will be provided in each sub-districts with total participant around 100 people per class.

"We will start the training from March. Especially for IKM, we could hold two classes for one sub-district depend on the commodity, such as culinary and handcrafting," she mentioned, Monday (2/10).

Moreover, her side will socialize this training to Jakartans massively by involving 358 PJLP as Jakpreneur mentors.

"Our purpose is to improve Jakpreneurs' welfare and increase labor absorption," she added.

According to her, training in each sub-district is provided for Jakartans who want to start running a business. It is also opened for IKM or UKM who want to join thus they can be facilitated by PPKUKM Department.

"For those who already run a business but then want to join us, they should register as level-up entrepreneurs. They don't need to join class in sub-district because it is for basic-level entrepreneurs," she explained.
