Jakarta Culture Department Head, Iwan Henry Wardhana visited two Betawi art studios in West Jakarta, Sekojor Lima Kurung at Joglo Urban Village and Kembang Jari at Meruya Selatan Urban Village.

"Besides, I want to ensure West Jakarta Culture Sub-department plays its role in giving information, training, monitoring, and evaluation in every art and culture activities in each regions," he stated, Satuday (2/22).

"Many participants joined this training because of supports from local community, religious and cultural leaders," he mentioned.
Jakarta Culture Department, he continued, has inventoried number of cultural activities held in municipality, regency, and provincial levels.
"There are so many cultural activities and Culture Sub-department will schedule evenly and fairly thus all art studios can take a part in our events," he explained.
According to him, Jakarta Culture Department has a role in training the art studios in Jakarta in order to preserve and develop Betawi cultures and arts in Jakarta as Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan's instruction.
"So, it is not about how many art studios have been formed, but we must also focus on quality of each studio," he added.
Meanwhile, West Jakarta Culture Sub-department Head, Ahmad Syaropi said, based on his data, there are total 163 art studios in 8 sub-districts in West Jakarta.
"After evaluating it, only about 25 percent from total 163 art studios in West Jakarta are still active. In the future, we will optimize it," he closed.
