Keramba on Tidung Island will Be Arranged in the Near Future

They must tidy up and arrange it well to be a supporting factor for Tidung Island tourism

The Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands along with the Thousand Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency was set to arrange keramba (floating net cages for fish cultivation), which is no longer, used by local fishermen.

It had been socialized to 50 owners of keramba in the Urban Village Office Hall yesterday.

Fish Cultivation with Cages Keeps Being Finalized

Tidung Island Urban Village Secretary Saudin who leads the socialization said that arrangement would be done soon after socialization.

"They must tidy up and arrange it well to be a supporting factor for Tidung Island tourism," he expressed.

As for the owners, most of whom were on the north side to tear down keramba by themselves which are no longer used, as it can damage the island's aesthetics and waters, which are one of the favorite tourism icons in Thousand Islands.

"We ask for your awareness and the sub-agency's support as the party that has been providing guidance to the fishermen," he stated.
