Meter Parking Policy on Jalan Sabang will Be Evaluated

Following meter parking policy implemented on Jalan Agus Salim (Sabang), Central Jakarta, Jakarta Transportation Department will implement the same policy in other locations, namely Pasar Baru (Central Jakarta) and Kelapa Gading (North Jakarta). But before that, they will first evaluate the meter parking implementation on Jalan Sabang.

We’ll implement meter parking policy in all areas in Jakarta. We predict that in 2-3 years ahead, all on street electronic parking would already be formed, because it takes time to build the infrastructures

“We’ll implement meter parking policy in all areas in Jakarta. We predict that in 2-3 years ahead, all on street electronic parking would already be formed, because it takes time to build the infrastructures,” stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department Parking Management Unit, Sunardi Sinaga, Friday (9/26).

According to Sinaga, meter parking policy is implemented to arrange the traffic, press the leaks in on street parking, and change the culture of citizens on paid parking.

Meter Parking Imposed on Jalan Sabang Next Week

“In the future, we’ll direct electronic-based parking and it takes time. So, while doing it, hopefully with those three main things, would be the start of parking system in Jakarta, especially on street (parking),” he uttered.
