Residents Joint Efforts to Remove Trash from Pari Island

We have transported 19 cubic meters of waste, with details 5 cubic meters from RW 01, 2 cubic meters from RW 02 and 12 cubic meters from RW 03

Residents of Pari Island, South Thousand Islands, joined on Tuesday civil servants, PJLPs and PPSU members to remove solid waste, mostly organic and household waste from RW 01, 02 and 03.

"We have transported 19 cubic meters of waste, with details 5 cubic meters from RW 01, 2 cubic meters from RW 02 and 12 cubic meters from RW 03," expressed Pari Island Urban Village Head, Mahtum, Friday (3/13).

Other than as a Clean Friday program, it also aimed to anticipate the spread of dengue.

"For waste that have the potential to become mosquito breeding spots, such as used bottles or cans, we plant them around the waste disposal site (TPS). We also ask locals to be diligent in draining reservoirs," he said.
