Thousand Islands Library and Archive Office (Sudinpusip) utilizes social media for storytelling activity.

Storytelling will be posted every day during study-at-home period or COVID-19 outbreak

Thousand Islands Sudinpusip Library and Archive Section Head, Cecep Suryadi mentioned, storytelling activity is usually held by librarians by inviting children or visiting RPTRAs and reading corners. This time, storytelling will be recorded in a video and it will be posted on Instagram and Facebook in order to minimize physical contact with the children.

According to him, it is done to prevent spread of COVID-19 as well as to support long-distance study program.

His side informed, parents and children can access the video by following Instagram @perpustakaankep. seribu and Facebook account of Perpustakaan Kepulauan Seribu.

"Storytelling will be posted every day during study-at-home period or COVID-19 outbreak," he said, Saturday (3/21).

He expects urban village heads can help his side to socialize this program to their residents or schools in their region thus children can be entertained during study-at-home period.

"This way, children can still enjoy reading books and its stories without having to come to the library, reading corners or reading parks," he closed.
