During January-October 2019 period, South Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-department (Sudinpusip) has carried out 93 storytelling activities.

South Jakarta Sudinpusip Head, Evita Dwi Saiverda mentioned, storytelling is held to raise children's interest in reading, especially school-aged children starts from early childhood education program (PAUD), kindergarten, elementary school, and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
"This activity is held at RPTRA and schools. Besides, we have literacy tour by inviting kindergarten and elementary students to South Jakarta Public Library," she explained, Thursday (12/19).

"We also invite storyteller community in this program," she added.
South Jakarta Sudinpusip's Library Section Head, Maksum Asmasari conveyed, her side scheduled storytelling activity once per three months. Her side hopes this activity can encourage children to know various genres of books and increase their interest in reading.
"From storytelling, they can imagine the story. Moreover, it is performed according to the characters in the story," she said.
