City Signs Agreement with Transportation Minister and PT KAI

Jakarta Provincial Government signs a cooperation agreement with Transportation Ministry and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) at City Hall, Wednesday (1/10). The agreement is signed by Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama, Transportation Ministry Train Director General Herman Dwi Atmoko, and PT KAI President Director Ignatius Jonan.

It is conducted because all this time there are buildings without permits that may endanger the safety of train travels

“The agreement with Transportation Ministry and PT KAI is about control and arrangement of land under overpass railroad between Jakarta Kota Station-Manggarai Station and the land that parallel with railroads in Jakarta, as well as arrangement of settlements that integrated with trains in station areas. It is conducted because all this time there are buildings without permits that may endanger the safety of train travels,” stated Basuki.

According to Basuki, the control will include land clearing from all activities outside railways and construction of roads in parallel to the railways as public roads, inspection roads, and collector roads, as well as the construction of green open spaces.
