Betawi Performers in Central Jakarta Encouraged to Be Innovative During PSBB

Central Jakarta Culture Sub-agency encourages Betawi art studio owners in the region to continue innovating during Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

Central Jakarta Culture Sub-agency Head, Moh. Nurdin stated, total 98 art studios under Central Jakarta Culture Sub-agency are not operating temporarily due to PSBB regulations. Those art studios teach tanjidor, gambang kromong, ondel-ondel, and betawi dances.

"We motivate Betawi performers to be innovative in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic," he stated, Monday (4/20).

Recently his side coordinate with the owners of those art studios via telephone in order to minimize face-to-face meeting in PSBB period.

"All of these efforts are carried out to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission," he asserted.
