Nakertrans and Energy Agency's Cloth Face Mask Production Reaches 38,000 Units

Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration (Nakertrans) and Energy Agency collected 38,000 cloth face masks produced by volunteers from total target 225,000 cloth face masks.

We will finish cloth face mask production as soon as possible

Jakarta Nakertrans and Energy Agency Head, Andri Yansyah mentioned, cloth face mask has been produced since April 6, 2020. When it reaches 100,000 masks, his side will hand it over to the Task Force for COVID-19 Handling of DKI Jakarta.

"Those cloth face masks will be given to residents for free in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he added, Thursday (4/23).

IKM and UKM Empowered to Produce 2 Million Cloth Face Masks

He explained, those cloth face mask are produced by volunteers who are the alumnus and trainees of Fashion Vocational Training at Regional Employment Training Centers (PPKD) in five municipalities and Pasar Rebo Industry Development Skills Training Center (PPKPI).

"Each volunteers create 75 cloth face mask every day. We will finish cloth face mask production as soon as possible," he said.

According to him, cloth face mask production was carried out to follow Jakarta Governor's Appeal No. 9/2020 concerning the Use of Face Mask to Prevent Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Transmission.

"Non-medical face masks are produced according to the standards set by Jakarta Health Agency, from its material, pattern, and model," he informed.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta PPKD Head, Ahmad Sotar Harahap conveyed, until today his side has produced 12,250 cloth face masks.

"Those non-medical face masks have been submitted in stages to North Jakarta PPKD as the coordinator of mass production of cloth face masks in Jakarta Nakertrans Agency," he stated.
