Thousand Islands LH Personnel Destroy 4 Kg Medical Waste

From March to April 2020, Thousand Islands Environment (LH) Sub-agency have collected and destroyed 4 kilograms medical waste, including disposable masks used by medical workers.

Thousand Islands LH Sub-agency Head, Djoko Rianto Budi Hartono mentioned, his side has instructed personnel on duty to sort disposable medical waste from the source.

"Medical waste, including disposable masks, have been collected and destroyed to prevent it from being reused," he said, Saturday (5/2).

Eight Garbage Bins Provided in Central Jakarta to Collect Medical Waste

According to him, medical waste has been sorted by his personnel in hospitals (RSUD), Puskesmas, and health posts before being transported to temporary dumpsite (TPS) in each inhabited islands.

"Our personnel on the field required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while doing their work and c lean themselves after work to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he informed.
