Ahok disclosed that all the athletes’ needs and facilities has been prepared well. Among them is by sending athletes who could potentially win the gold medal to China to improve skill in facing the Asian Games.

Former regent of East Belitung predicts those athletes are from the sport of wushu, weightlifting, and gymnastic. "I don’t know exactly. They (the Chinese Olympic Committee) who know better. Perhaps, they would train our wushu athletes, as well as weightlifting and gymnastic," he said.
According to him, coaching athletes from the areas who fought for the sake of the name of Indonesia in national and international competition, is not only the responsibility of the Jakarta government but also the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Therefore, he hopes the Ministry of Youth and Sports has an important role in the skill improvement of national athletes better.
“Our role as government is to provide a grant. But our money was more widely used for KONI and so on. This is the policy matter. So, we will see whether the new Ministry of Youth and Sports is willing to help us. This is supposedly their responsibility, instead of me," he added.
