DTKJ Expects More Public Transport Operating in Transitional PSBB Period

Jakarta Transportation Council (DTKJ) expected city to operate more public transport fleets during Transitional Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period to avoid buildup of passengers.

We suggest to deploy more buses

DTKJ Chairman, Haris Muhamadun said, since City implemented Transitional PSBB on Monday (6/8), his side found buildup of passengers due to restriction on fleet's maximum capacity as a part of health protocols to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

"It happens in train stations, especially in morning and afternoon," he conveyed, Tuesday (6/9).

Here is DTKJ Recommendation to Overcome Jam

According to him, there are buildups in several train stations, such as in Tanah Abang Station, where number of passengers to be transported is greater than Transjakarta bus fleets operating.

"We suggest to deploy more buses, such as city tour bus or Jaklingko to help transport passengers at the train station to prevent buildup, especially in morning and afternoon," he said.

Since the implementation of Transitional PSBB, he added, public transport users have complied with the applicable regulation by wearing mask.

"We hope public transport users can continue to implement health protocols to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he mentioned.

DTKJ is also open for any input from residents regarding implementation of odd-even policy for motor vehicles during Transitional PSBB period in Jakarta.

"Until this day, we are still reviewing the odd-even policy, whether it is needed during Transitional PSBB or not," he asserted.
