Pasar Jaya Temporarily Closes 19 Markets

Perumda Pasar Jaya closes 19 traditional markets temporarily after finding traders who were positive COVID-19 in 6 traditional markets in Jakarta.

Since yesterday, we have closed all (19 markets) until the next three days

Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin conveyed, his side has tested 1,418 traders in 19 traditional markets. From that test, 52 traders in 6 markets were confirmed positive COVID-19. Traders in 3 other markets are confirmed negative and now his side is still waiting for the result from 10 markets.

"Since yesterday, we have closed all (19 markets) until the next three days. Based on expert analysis, it needs to be closed for at least three days after spraying with disinfectant," he mentioned, Friday (6/12).

Satpol PP Tightens Health Protocols Implementation in Public Places

Currently, his side is coordinating with Health Agency to hold rapid test. His side continues to educate tenants, implements health protocols and disinfects the area regularly once in two weeks through collaboration with PMI (Indonesian Red Cross).

"We also apply odd-even kiosks policy, control consumer traffic, equip traders with face shield to anticipate COVID-19 transmission," he added.
