Commission A Member: Mall Supervision must Be Tightened

So do not hesitate to close them

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission A Member Wibi Andrino has called on joint personnel supervise health protocols tightly in shopping malls that have been operated on Monday (6/15).

According to him, it was very important thus malls in Jakarta would not become a new cluster of COVID-19 spread due to the surge in visitors.

"Visitor surge must be anticipated. There is a kind of euphoria of residents to visit the mall which was closed since large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) were imposed in Jakarta," he expressed.

He asserted they should be aware that the threat of spreading COVID-19 still exists and could attack anyone. The leeway did not mean free to ignore health protocols.

"Jakarta Provincial Government already has regulations and must ensure that regulations run perpendicularly," he told.

He also reminded mall managers to implement regulations issued by the city government and encouraged the executive to take firm action if there are malls that break it.

"So do not hesitate to close them," he closed.
