A number of shopping centers in South Jakarta have implemented new normal with health protocols since it reopened on Monday (6/15). It can be seen in the Pejaten Village Mall on Jalan Warung Jati Barat, Jati Padang, Pasar Minggu and Kalibata Mall on Jalan Raya Kalibata, Pancoran.

At Pejaten Village Mall, they have adopted strict health protocols starting from the mall entrance where visitors must first wash their hands in the sink provided and continue with body temperature check. In general, the mall is still empty of visitors.

Pejaten Village Marketing Communication Meriza Retno Karina said his side had put up banners and signs to always be aware of COVID-19 in elevators, escalators to toilets to maintain physical distancing between visitors.

"For visitors, we only welcome 50 percent of normal capacity. While only for fashion tenants, food and beverages that are just operating," he expressed, Thursday (6/18).

The mall caretaker, she furthered, had also been socializing to the kiosk owners to always be in order thus the wheels of the economy can slowly run but still by paying attention to the health protocol.

In the meantime, Kalibata Mall Communication Marketing Rully Pratama expressed his side also had implemented health protocols that are focused on food and beverage kiosks as they are most often associated with visitors.

"They (kiosks) are also cooperative. Hopefully this pandemic ends soon," he uttered.

South Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency Head Sudrajat asked the mall management to comply with all provisions in the transitional PSBB.

"Make sure all tenants and visitors adhere to the applicable health protocols," he stated.
