KHL DKI 2014 Ditetapkan Pekan Ketiga Oktober

City’s 2014 KHL to Be Determined in the Third Week of October

Jakarta Provincial Government along with Wage Council, that consists of labors, entrepreneurs, as well as Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, will set the 2014 standard cost of living (KHL) in the third week of this October. The KHL will be a base for city’s province minimum wage (UMP) next year.

We still need explanations from PLN about TDL and PAM, because it includes in 60 survey components needed to determine KHL

Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Priyono, said that before determining the KHL, his department has conducted survey on KHL for as much as eight times starting from January to September. Now, the result of survey data is still being processed by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). But based on the survey done in July in 10 markets in the capital city, the amount of KHL was Rp 2,308,000.

“We hope that in the third week of October, the 2014 city’s KHL could be determined. Then in the fourth week, we would give the recommendation on the 2015 UMP to the governor. So, at least by November 1, the amount of the 2015 UMP could have been signed by the governor,” he stated, Thursday (10/9).

Manpower Dept. Does Survey the KHL

Besides based on the survey result, the determination of KHL is also considering the inflation, economy factor, marginal sector, and work productivity. At this time, Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department is still waiting for explanations from State Electricity Company (PLN) and drinking water company (PAM) on the amount of electricity basic tariff (TDL) and water tariff. So, the determination for KHL still needs to be discussed with the Wage Council.

“We still need explanations from PLN about TDL and PAM, because it includes in 60 survey components needed to determine KHL,” uttered Priyono.
