KPKP Holds Food Inspection in 10 Supermarkets

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency held food inspection in 10 supermarkets in Central Jakarta and East Jakarta.

Through this inspection, we want to guarantee that the food is safe for consumption

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Darjamuni said food inspection in East Jakarta held at Tip Top Rawamangun, Giant Pondok Kopi, Lulu Hypermarket, Transmart Kalimalang, and Naga Jatiwaringin. While in Central Jakarta, it was held at Hypermart Thamrin City, Hypermart Gajah Mada, Food Mart Fresh Atrium, Hero Gondangdia and Transmart Carrefour Cempaka Putih.

"Through this inspection, we want to guarantee that the food is safe for consumption, both from agriculture, fisheries, and livestock," he asserted, Thursday (6/25).

Food Inspection Held in Four Traditional Markets in South Jakarta

Based on the laboratory test carried out by Center for Promotion and Certification of Agricultural Products, Center for Animal Health and Animal Husbandry, as well as Center for Production, Inspection and Certification of Fisheries Products, the result from all samples were negative of formalin and pesticide residue. It means the products are safe to be consumed because it doesn't contain of hazardous substance.

"We appreciate all supermarkets and food suppliers who have committed to maintain a good quality for fresh food commodity and free from hazardous substance. Also, thanks to supermarkets managements who bear the cost for purchasing the samples," he added.

His side will continue to hold food inspection in all supermarkets until December 2020. Supermarkets that sold fresh foods will be given certificate based on the samples that has been tested and inspected which is valid to December 2020.

"Next we will hold integrated fresh food inspection in supermarkets located in three other municipalities in Jakarta," he conveyed.

For information, fresh food samples which tested in this inspection are; shallot, garlic, big red chili, curly red chili, red cayenne pepper, green cayenne pepper, potato, leek, tomato, choy sum, water spinach, cabbage, apple, grape, orange, meat (beef), chicken, minced beef and chicken, salted fish, and fisheries products such as fish meatball and fish cake.
