Commission B Holds Work Visit to Jakarta International Stadium

Jakarta Council (DPRD) held work visit (kunker) to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta. This work visit was attended by Commission B Coordinator as well as Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi; Commission B Chairman, Abdul Azis; Commission B Secretary, Pandapotan Sinaga; and several legislators from Commisison B such as Gilbert Simanjuntak, Ong Yeni, Manuara Siaahan, Achmad Yani, Hasan Basri, and Wita Susilowaty.

Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi conveyed, Jakarta Government should arrange JIS area well, because later it will be Jakarta's icon.

"Including integrated transport modes that can facilitate people to visit this location using public transport, not private vehicle," he mentioned, Monday (6/29).

Commission C Discusses Budget Allocation for COVID-19 Handling

He also added that Jakarta DPRD also wanted Jakarta Government to install Betawi icons in JIS area.

"Council supports Jakarta Government to free up land around JIS thus it is not controlled by private sector in order to provide infrastructure and other supporting facilities for FIFA standard football stadium," he said.

Commission B Chairman, Abdul Azis conveyed his appreciation to PT. Jakarta Propertindo as the responsible party in completing JIS construction in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic situation.

"JIS construction is still ongoing, since PT. Jakpro as BUMD got an extraordinary mandate for other project," he added.

PT. Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) President Director, Dwi Wahyu Daryoto said, his side still continues JIS construction since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Jakarta by implementing strict health protocols.

"JIS construction progress as of June 12, 2020 reaches 23.2 percent. We target it to reach 38.04 percent by the end of this year," he conveyed.

He admitted, the construction realization figure until end of 2020 was missed because it was originally targeted at around 46.76 percent.

"We are optimistic to reach our target in the remaining time during the new normal period," he asserted.
