Weekend Holiday, 3,595 Tourists Thronged Untung Jawa Island

We conduct extra strict supervision for the tourism sector regarding the implementation of health protocols

It has been recorded that as many as 3,959 tourists have packed Untung Jawa Island, South Thousand Islands last weekends. Most tourists come from Tanjung Pasir Port, Tangerang.

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head Supriyadi said that the number shows tourism in Thousand Island was still an attractive destination for local residents.

Untung Jawa Island Installs More Hand Washing Facilities

"We conduct extra strict supervision for the tourism sector regarding the implementation of health protocols," he expressed, Monday (7/6).

According to him, health protocols were implemented when tourists depart from the original pier and when they arrive at the main pier of Untung Jawa Island.

"We deploy our medics, Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and safe-island taskforce team to the location. In addition to the main pier, they also patrol the tourist sites," he explained.

Untung Island Urban Village Pokdarwis Tourism Awareness Group Chairman Rusli hoped that tourists could follow the rules of the health protocol for the sake of shared health and safety.

"Moreover we are still in the transitional PSBB period," he asserted.
