KPKP-Diskominfotik Prepares Sacrificial Animal Slaughtering Simulation Video

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency together with Communication, Information, and Statistic Agency (Diskominfotik) prepares educational video related to the implementation of health protocols when slaughtering sacrificial animals (qurban) on Eid al-Adha to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Secretary, Suharini Eliawati said, through the video, her side wants to show sacrificial animal slaughtering simulation starts from delivering sacrificial animals, slaughtering techniques, meat cutting, and meat distribution to the recipients (mustahik).

"This simulation video can educate people and guide the animal slaughterers and qurban committee. Not only how to slaughter it, but from delivering the sacrificial animals to the slaughterhouse, slaughtering techniques, meat cutting, and mechanism to distribute meat to the mustahik," she explained, Tuesday (7/7).

According to her, this video also informs the implementation of COVID-19 prevention protocols, including when distributing qurban meat to the mustahik because of the pandemic situation.

In distributing meat, people are not allowed to come to the slaughterhouse to take the meat. Because qurban committee will deliver the meat to the rightful recipients.

"Personnel on duty should wash their hands and keep a safe distance with the others. For this reason, there are only five people in the video who slaughter the animal and cut the meat," she mentioned.

She informed, video editing is currently processed by Diskominfotik thus later it can be posted through official social media accounts of Jakarta Government.

"Video material from KPKP Agency, while editing and publication are handled by Diskominfotik. For now, it is still in editing process, but once completed, it will be sent to us to be rechecked," she explained.

KPKP Agency has created special WhatsApp group to distribute the video when it is ready.

"We expect people to understand fully through this video, thus this year's Eid al-Adha can run well and everyone can avoid COVID-19 transmission," she closed.
