East Jakarta LH Monitors the Use of KBRL in 23 Locations

Today, East Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency deployed 135 personnel to monitor the use of eco-friendly shopping bags (KBRL) in several markets based on Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 142/2019 concerning Obligation to Use Eco-friendly Shopping Bags (KBRL).

East Jakarta LH Sub-agency Head, Herwansyah mentioned, monitoring was carried out to ensure traditional markets, modern markets, and convenience stores have used KBRL. It was also done to educate people for not using disposable plastic bags anymore.

"We deploy 135 personnel to monitor 23 locations in 10 sub-districts," he stated, Tuesday (7/7).

According to him, modern markets and convenience stores have used KBRL. But his side often finds several stalls in traditional markets that still use disposable plastic bags.

"Thus we will continue to educate and approach the merchants thus they can provide eco-friendly shopping bags," he closed.
