Plastic-free Lifestyle Socialized to 116 Supermarkets in Tanjung Priok

Jakarta Environmental Agency Head Andono Warih disclosed various preparations made ahead of this application such as, spreading the Environmental Agency Head's circular letter, poster and banner for mall, supermarket and folk market.

"We also do socialization and education through a talk show and a mass media, either print, online, and television. It is done to 85 malls, more than 2,000 supermarkets and 158 folk markets," he expressed, Tuesday (6/30).

Similar action is also conducted to the Indonesian Shopping Center Association (APPBI), Indonesian Retailers Association (APRINDO) and three big supermarkets.

He added the KBRL is a reusable shopping bag that can be made from any kind of material such as dry leaves, paper, cloth, polyester and its derivatives or recycled material, has sufficient thickness, can be recycled and is designed to be used repeatedly.

This regulation was in line with the principle of building Jakarta with Healthy, Safe and Productive. People were urged to bring their own bags and containers thus they are increasingly concerned about safety and environmental sustainability.

"It is also to create opportunity for UMKM in producing eco-friendly bags, utilizing local wisdom and fostering the creativity of local designers as a substitute for crackle," he uttered.
