Jakarta Cosplay Parade, Don`t Miss It

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department will hold Jakarta Cosplay Parade in the east and south side of Silang Monas, Sunday (11/2).

This is the first time held in Jakarta, with theme Rising of Indonesian Legend, and will be held yearly

This is the first time that the event is held in a large scale as moment to recall the Indonesian character which is as great as manga, anime, movies, comics, and video games character from abroad.

Thousands of cosplayer will participate in the event.

"In Japan and Korea, cosplayers are deployed in some tourist buses as a tour guide. It might be nice to be applied in Jakarta," said Basuki T. Purnama, Jakarta Vice Governor, Friday (10/10).

Head of Jakarta Dept. of Tourism and Culture, Arie Budhiman, stated similar event to be held yearly.

"This is the first time held in Jakarta, with theme Rising of Indonesian Legend, and will be held yearly," Arie stated.

Jakarta Cosplay Parade is featuring Indonesian heroes like Carok, Gundala Putra Petir, Gatot Kaca, Pandawa Lima, and etc.

"It is hoped the event could give motivation  for pop art artist especially cosplayer to promote Jakarta as tourism destination among international world," Arie added.
