Eid al-Adha, City Prepares Qurban Slaughtering Program in Accordance with COVID-19 Protocols

Jakarta Government committed to continue the Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program to help people related to socio-economic sector as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.
This is to ensure that entire process of qurban slaughtering is carried out through a healthy, clean, and hygienic process, especially during COVID-19
Ahead of Eid al-Adha, Jakarta Government collaborates with ACT (Aksi Cepat Tanggap), PD. Dharma Jaya (one of Jakarta BUMDs), and Bank Bukopin Syariah for inaugurating program called Sentra Qurban Terbaik 2020. It is a program for slaughtering sacrificial animals (qurban) where its process, from slaughtering up to distribution, is carried out in accordance with COVID-19 prevention protocols.
Sentra Qurban Terbaik 2020 will be centered at PD. Dharma Jaya Slaughterhouse (RPH) in Penggilingan, Cakung, East Jakarta. The Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) who attended at the inauguration ceremony, expected the qurban slaughtering process carried out according to COVID-19 prevention protocols at RPH could be done hygienically.

," he conveyed during the inauguration ceremony at PD. Dharma Jaya's RPH, on Thursday (7/16), as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.According to him, Eid al-Adha is a moment to show Jakarta residents' concern to the others. Thus in this opportunity, he encouraged all people to collaborate in welcoming Eid al-Adha.
"We encourage the whole community, all institutions, business entities, and all of us to collaborate. Let's use this moment as well as possible by sacrificing. Because, many of our brothers and sisters are (economically) affected by COVID-19, in which, the data stated an increase in poverty," he asserted.
He also conveyed that World Giving Index 2018 survey showed that Indonesia was ranked first of 146 countries as the most generous country. That passion also drives KSBB program for this year's Eid al-Adha.
"It's time for us to prove that Jakarta people are caring people who pay attention to the others. Jakarta people have a high social level. As we know, based on the survey, Indonesia is a country where its residents are very caring to the others and have provided other social assistance," he stated.
In the other hand, President Director of Global Qurban-ACT, Hafit Timor Mas'ud assessed, within this program that carries theme 'Labbaik Berqurban Terbaik', more than 1,000 qurban animals will be slaughtered at PD. Dharma Jaya's RPH. Later, the qurban meat will be distributed to 100,000 needy people in Jakarta.
"How is it done? Insya Allah, with 300,000 data from Jakarta Care Line that we have through collaboration with Jakarta Government, we can deliver right away the qurban meat to the recipients homes using online motorcycle taxis thus even though recipients stay at home, they can receive the best quality qurban meat," he explained.
According to him, this year's qurban slaughtering which carried out through Jakarta KSBB Program and Global Qurban-ACT, will comply with COVID-19 health protocols. Starting from the slaughtering, packaging, until it is received by the recipients.
"And it becomes a standard procedure that will be implemented by 43 branches of Global Qurban-ACT throughout Indonesia," he added.
