Three Reservoirs in East Jakarta Designed for Ecotourism

East Jakarta Government plans to revamp 3 reservoirs in East Jakarta to be ecotourism area. In realizing it, the local government will cooperate with private sectors through 1,000 lakes development program.

East Jakarta Government Assistant for Economy and Development, Kusmanto stated, 3 reservoirs that will be revamped into ecotourism area are Tiu Reservoir (Cipayung), Setu Reservoir (Cipayung), and Rawa Dongkal Reservoir (Ciracas).

"In East Jakarta, we prepare 3 reservoirs for ecotourism area," he said when surveying Setu and Tiu Reservoirs, on Wednesday (7/22).

This survey was conducted to follow up request from residents who want Tiu and Setu Reservoirs to be used for tourism. Their request, he assessed, is in line with the government's concern to preserve the nature while improving the potential of the area for ecotourism.

In realizing that plan, his side will take care of environmental impact analysis. There will be many interesting activities and events, such as arts and cultural performances, culinary, playground, and others to attract more people to visit the ecotourism sites.

"If it can be realized, surely it can boost the economic growth and create many job opportunities, and hopefully it can improve the community welfare," he asserted.
