City Achieves Best One Million Acceptor I Award from BKKBN

At the peak event of XXVII National Family Day 2020 which held virtually, Jakarta Government achieved the Family Planning Service (KB) Recording and Reporting Award as the Best One Million Acceptor I from the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).

It means the realization is 143.76 percent

Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati said, the Simultaneous  KB Service for One Million Acceptors Program is one of her efforts to increase number of family planning participation for couples at childbearing age.

For this program, KB service in Jakarta is targeted to reach 21,193 acceptors consisting of 5,570 IUD/implant acceptors; 2,871 injection acceptors, and 12,802 pill/condom acceptors.

"Our target was 21,193 acceptors, but we managed to record it online through by-name-by-address system which reached 30,467 acceptors. It means the realization is 143.76 percent. This achievement made Jakarta won the Best Award I from BKKBN," she said, Friday (7/24).

In providing KB service, her side involved health facilities, Independent Midwife Practices (PMB)s, and cadres. In detail, there were 281 health facilities including health centers (puskesmas) and hospitals; 450 PMBs, and 2,971 cadres from Village Family Planning Assistance (PPKBD) PPKB-RW, Dasawisma, and other KB cadres.

"Those services helped us to reach the achievement, moreover KB acceptors in the last three consecutive months continued to decline due to COVID-19 pandemic," she mentioned.

In June, she added, KB acceptors reached 15,437 people or two times higher than KB acceptors in May of 7,879 people.

"Jakarta Government cooperate with related SKPDs, TNI, PMBs, clinics, hospitals and PKK to carry out this activity in order to exceed the target," she closed.
