Anies Signs Cooperation Agreement with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan signed an agreement between Jakarta Provincial Government with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SIM) about national economic recovery loans (PEN) at the Ministry of Finance Office, Central Jakarta, on Monday (7/27).

In this case, the city proposed a loan as much as Rp 4.5 trillion for 2020 city budget and Rp 8 trillion for 2021 city budget with a maximum payback period of around 10 years.

"I want to say thank you to the minister, as well as its ranks and PT SMI, as this is our first time to get a loan through PT SMI. So there are several sectors that will be assisted later, such as about flood handling, drinking water services improvement, waste processing, transportation improvement, tourism and culture improvement and sports," expressed the governor, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

According to him, the city as the center of the national economy would use this PEN funding source as a stimulus to drive the economy. Through this cooperation, he hoped that the city could resume the regional development that was previously delayed due to economic crisis.

"So Jakarta has a sizeable portion of the Indonesian economy. Therefore if we can rise up, this will have a national impact," he explained.

As for the information, the city's local revenue was previously reported decreasing up to Rp 31.13 trillion due to COVID-19 crisis. Some economic sectors affected by negative growth included the service sector, construction, water supply, trade, education, energy (electricity and gas) and the processing industry.
