Basuki Plans to Escort Jokowi to Presidential Palace

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama plans to escort the president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo from the official home, Jalan Taman Suropati No. 7, Central Jakarta, towards the Presidential Palace.

It will be held after Jokowi officially became president. "I'll escort Mr. Jokowi from his official home in Taman Suropati to the Presidential Palace," he said, at City Hall, Monday (10/13).

Hence, he asked Jokowi not to quickly leave the official home. "If the presidential decree is issued, I asked Mr. Jokowi not to leave his official home quickly," he said.

He also ensures he would attend the presidential inauguration at the building of House of Representative (DPR) on October 20. "Yes, I will attend Mr. Jokowi's inauguration," he expressed.

As known, Jokowi had filed a resignation letter to Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). At the plenary session, the entire DPRD member approved his resignation. Furthermore, its result sent to the president through the Home Ministry and continued with issuance of a presidential decree concerning Jokowi dismissal as Jakarta Governor.

After such president's decree is issued, Basuki will automatically become Acting Jakarta Governor and will apply to the Home Minister inaugurates him as Jakarta Governor in the plenary session held by DPRD.
