Ahok Prepares Trick to Evict Street Vendors in Monas

We're currently preparing the way to evict street vendors who set up stalls in Monas

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama revealed that his party has prepared the way to deal with street vendors problem in the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta.

"We're currently preparing the way to evict street vendors who set up stalls in Monas," said Basuki at City Hall, Monday (10/13).

He explained that raid against street vendors will be started from the IRTI field because its location used as a logistic storage. After that, the Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade 

(KUMKMP) Department will collect the formal vendors' data in Monas.

He furthered, the Monas Management Unit that was formed recently cannot work optimally yet because the entire budget has not been allocated. "Mrs. Rini (Head of Monas Management Unit) can be active fully next year. Moreover, our personnel is still lacking," he expressed.

Former regent of East Belitung stated vendors that were recorded would receive an identity equipped with DKI Bank ATM card.

"Those who try to forge their identity will be charged under imprisonment up to 12 years. I hope all can be realized next year, considering we are still facing a lot of obstacles, such as election, inauguration and others," he uttered.
