Culture Agency - Kemenkumham Cooperates to Protect KIK

The Jakarta Culture Agency is cooperating with the Law and Human Rights Ministry (Kemenkumham) in the case of communal intellectual property protection (KIK) and geographical indications.

We don't want Indonesia's native culture to be claimed by other countries

According to Iwan Henry Wardhana, Head of Jakarta Culture Agency, his side succeeded in fighting for four types of communal intellectual property and had received recognition of its records namely, Cingkrik Martial Arts, Tiga Berantai Martial Arts, Zapin Betawi Dance and Rebana Hadroh.

"By registering Betawi traditions and culture into KIK from Kemkumham, it can anticipate claims from other countries," he stressed, Monday (8/3).
