Officers Keep Socializing Odd-even Plate Policy in East Jakarta

Entering the last day of socialization on odd-even plate policy, a joint officer are still continuously smelling violations committed by motorists. They also urge them to turn around looking for other alternative paths.

Starting tomorrow, we will impose strict sanctions. Hopefully the car drivers can better comply with this rule

As seen on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jatinegara, where officers had to stop a number of cars that passed from Kalimalang and Becakayu tollgate exits. Most argued not know even the rules of odd-even plate policy.

Responding on this matter, East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Supervision and Control Division Head Riky Erwinda said, same as before, some 40 officers were alerted to monitor a number of roads that applied odd-even system and were divided into two shifts, 6 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 9 PM.

Odd-even Traffic Policy Socialization is Applied Until August 5

"Today is the last day of socialization. Starting tomorrow, we will impose strict sanctions. Hopefully the car drivers can better comply with this rule," he asserted, Wednesday (8/5).

Reno (35), one of car drivers with the Surakarta regional number plate claiming to not know the odd-even policy in Jakarta. He assessed, this was his first time to across Jalan DI Panjaitan to Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road.

"This is my first time, that's why I don't know the new rules here. I was not ticketed but only given an explanation about the odd-even policy rules," he admitted, who claimed to be driving to Yogyakarta.
