MRT Jakarta Imposes Longer Operating Hours Up to 10 PM

PT MRT Jakarta has announced to set its operating hours up to 10 PM on Monday until Friday, which comes into effects on Monday (8/3) after the city re-imposes odd-even plate policy as traffic returns in Jakarta.

We're going to operate 14 train cars on weekdays and 4 train cars on weekends

MRT Jakarta Operational and Maintenance Director Muhammad Effendi said all COVID-19 preventive health protocols would still be implemented.

"We're going to operate 14 train cars on weekdays and 4 train cars on weekends," he expressed, Monday (8/3).

His party stated Indonesia’s first mass rapid transit service would operate between 5 AM and 10 PM on weekdays, with 10 minutes headway between the trains, and between 6 AM and 8 PM on the weekend, with 20 minutes headway.

"We will limit the number of passengers from 62 to 67 per train car or 390 passengers per train," he stated.

He went on to say that PT MRT Jakarta kept urging residents to re-use public transportation in daily activities.

"Every day we routinely do sterilization on our trains, either on the exterior or interior, so do not worry to use public transportation," he said.
