Commemorating 75th Anniversary of Indonesia Independence Day, City will Play Indonesia Raya Song Simultaneously in Various Regions

Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Indonesia Independence Day, Jakarta Government requires all Jakarta residents to stand upright and stop activities for a while on August 17, 2020 at 10:17 - 10:20  AM when Indonesia Raya song is played simultaneously in various locations.

Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah conveyed, it was to follow up State Secretary Minister's Letter No. B- 492/M.Sesneg/Set/TU.00.04/07/2020 concerning the 75th Anniversary of Indonesia Independence Day Commemoration in 2020.

"This year's Indonesia Independence Day will be very different from previous years because it is celebrated in the midst of pandemic, where we will instruct all residents to stand upright for three minutes from 10:17 to 10:20 AM and stop their activities for a while when Indonesia Raya song is played," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Thursday (8/6).

According to him, Letter No. 275/-073 on July 22, 2020 about Simultaneous Playing of Indonesia Raya Song in the Context of 75th Anniversary of Indonesia Independence Day had been issued and addressed to the regional police chiefs, sub-districts heads, urban villages heads, BUMD chairmen, and residents to follow up the instructions and sing the whole Indonesia Raya song that will be played simultaneously. He also conveyed, this year's Indonesia Independence Day will be enlivened by video-making competition held by Tourism and Economy Creative Ministry with total prize Rp 1 billion. He has also written letter to RT/RW heads, residents, communities, and private companies and expects Jakartans can participate in this competition.
