Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah opened public consultation meeting on Tuesday (8/18) to discuss a plan for building crossing channel from Ciliwung River to East Flood Canal at East Jakarta Youth GOR, Jalan Otista Raya, Jatinegara.
Residents who are affected by this project will get compensation according to the applicable regulations
This meeting was held in two stages which attended by residents of RW 14 and 04 Bidara Cina Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-district, who will be affected by this crossing channel construction plan.
In his remarks, he stated that public consultation meeting was held in accordance with the mandate of Presidential Decree (Perpres) No. 71/2012 concerning the Implementation of Land Acquisition for Development for Public Interest.

In this chance, Jakarta Government and the related institutions want to build the Ciliwung River crossing channel in an orderly manner that aiming to improve citizens welfare in the future.
Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC) Chairman, Bambang Heri Mulyono mentioned, public consultation meeting is a preparation stage of the 1.2 kilometer crossing channel construction plan.
"Our target is to finish the physical construction within 720 days or in 2023," he conveyed.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta Vice Mayor, Uus Kuswanto explained, currently 19 heads of families (KK)s who live at RW 14 Bidara Cina have approved the plan.
"Tomorrow, we will hold similar meeting by inviting around 92 KKs who live in RW 04 Bidara Cina," he added.
Based on previous data, there are total 101 KKs in 2 RWs that will be affected by crossing channel construction plan.
"But the latest data can only be known after East Jakarta BPN conducted location mapping," he stated.
