SDA will Start Dredging West Flood Canal in Central Jakarta

Anticipating overflowing rivers near residential areas, Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency planned to dredge West Flood Canal (KBB) channel as long as 3 kilometers.
It is a part of Grebek Lumpur program
Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Saiful conveyed, together with SDA Sub-agencies in 5 municipalities, dredging will be started from Karet Sluice Gate until Roxy Bridge.
"It is a part of Grebek Lumpur program. Last week, we have dredged channels in the north side. While in Central Jakarta, we will start the dredging soon. We are currently socializing this program to the local residents," he explained, Saturday (8/29).
Again, Mud in Ciliwung River DredgedFor this dredging, his side will use 5 amphibious excavators to dredge the channel about 3 meters depth.
Besides, 10 trucks and 50 SDA personnel will be also deployed for this dredging. This work is targeted to finish in December 2020.
"We have difficulty accessing the site using heavy equipment because of narrow road. So, later we will dredge the mud from one spot," he said.
