Anies Appreciates DPRD for Approving P2APBD 2019 and Two Raperda Proposals

Jakarta Provincial Government together with Jakarta Council (DPRD) held plenary meeting at DPRD Building on Monday (9/7).

In the plenary meeting, they discussed about Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) on Accountability for Implementing the City Budget (P2APBD) for Jakarta Province in Fiscal Year 2019, Raperda Proposal on Amendments to Perda No. 15/2010 about Street Lighting Tax and Raperda about Amendments to Perda No. 16/2010 concerning Parking Tax.

Those three Raperda which proposed by Jakarta Government have been approved by Jakarta DPRD Chairpersons and Members by signing a joint agreement between DPRD and Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan.

In his remarks, Anies conveyed his appreciation to the legislators for examining various material substances in three Raperda which officially became the Regional Regulation (Perda).

"Together with the executive, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to DPRD Chairpersons and members for their hard work in examining the entire material substance of the Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) on Accountability for Implementing the Regional Budget for Fiscal Year 2019 and two proposed Raperda," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Monday (9/7).

Related to Raperda P2APBD 2019 which was approved by DPRD, he hopes the Jakarta Government's financial management can be better, more transparent, and accountable thus it is in line with Jakarta Government and DPRD's commitment in realizing an orderly administration of clean governance.

"Let me reiterate the partnership (between Jakarta Government and DPRD) which has been very good so far. Hopefully, it will be more intensive and professional in our joint efforts to implement the New Face of Jakarta in realizing the governance's quality that is transparent and accountable, in order to get better governance oriented towards public service," he stated.

He also appreciated DPRD for approving two Raperda which proposed by Jakarta Government. Including the amendments to Perda No. 16/2010 which regulated parking tax rate from 20 percent into 30 percent (according to Law (UU) 28/2009). Second is related to Perda No. 15/2010 concerning Street Light Tax which was originally flat tariff at 2.4% but now it was change into progressive tariff.

"The reason for increasing parking tax have been explained before. It is from the parking managers to the Jakarta Government. The parking rates are set separately thus it don't change automatically. As well as tariff for street lighting which originally flat rate at 2.4% and now it is changed into progressive rate. This way, we hope city's income can be optimal and it can be utilized by many people," he explained.

Apart from signing the approval of Raperda that changed into Perda, he also explained Raperda proposals to DPRD, concerning Raperda on Revocation of Regional Regulation No. 11/2014 about Jakarta Center for Islamic Studies, Raperda on Revocation of Regional Regulation No. 10/1999 concerning Regional Reserve Funds as well as Raperda about Regional-owned Enterprise, Dharma Jaya. Anies and all the ranks also listened the legislators' recess results that would be followed up by Jakarta Government.
