Presidential Inauguration, TransJakarta Bus Corridor I Operational Stopped Temporarily

TransJakarta Management Unit plans to temporarily stop the operational of TransJakarta bus in corridor I during the implementation of Syukuran Rakyat which held coincides with the inauguration of Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla as Indonesian President and Vice President for period of 2014-2019. The inauguration itself falls on October 20, 2014.

Head of TransJakarta Management Unit, Pergaulan Butarbutar, told that the event will be enlivened with cultural carnival and is planned to take route along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman until Jalan MH Thamrin, which is the main lane of TransJakarta bus corridor I (Blok M-Kota). Thus, the operational of TransJakarta bus corridor I will be stopped temporarily.

“We can’t do road diversion. Thus, we’ll stop the operational of TransJakarta bus corridor I temporarily,” he stated, Friday (10/17).

Jokowi Inauguration, No Day Off for Civil Servant

Besides corridor I, Butarbutar continued, TransJakarta bus corridor II (Harmoni-Pulogadung) also intersects with the event. But, TransJakarta bus in this corridor can be diverted from Harmoni straight to Jalan Juanda-Pasar Baru-Tani Statue-Pulogadung.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar, asked the people who want to participate in the event not to use TransJakarta bus lane in order to smooth TransJakarta bus operational.

“According to the information, there would be a procession on Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Thamrin. But so far, we assume it is still normal, no distractions. Even so, road diversion and operational stoppage in the field is situational,” he said.
