Grants Disbursed for Traditional Market Traders

Jakarta Dept. of Cooperative Micro Small Medium Enterprise and Trade, Monday (10/20), gave grants to 70 traders of traditional market under Matraman Market Cooperative (Koppas), East Jakarta. Each traders get grant Rp 5 million and must be returned after 10 months.

Matraman Koppas Head, Manaf (60), said those 70 traders come from 3 markets, such as Pasar Burung Pramuka, Pasar Obat and Pasar Sayur Mayur Pramuka.

"The grants was already rolled a month ago, but newly disbursed yesterday. So we give it today to the traders. They are charged interest as much as 2 percent," he said.
One of the traders, Catur Adikusno (43), admitted the grant will be used as capital in ornamental chicken business. "Thanks God for this chance. This is my first time getting grant after 14 years joining the cooperative," he admitted.
Ernalis Yulianti, Head Unit of Grant Distribution for the Department, explained total grant disbursed Rp 350 million. The grant is disbursed through online system to ease monitoring. If the grant management good without arrears, they can propose for another loan in the next 3-4 months.
"Each cooperative must report monthly via website," she told.
There is also sanction for those who have arrears by refusing the grant proposal. If the fund is still in DKI Bank, it will be withdrawn.
