Floods in Jakarta, East Jakarta Back to Normal

The water has receded and people have returned to their homes since the afternoon

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has noted that floodwaters that inundate 22 RTs spread over five regions since last Sunday have started to recede.

Jakarta BPBD's Center for Disaster Data and Information (Pusdatin) Head Mohammad Insaf said, based on the data gathered at 6 PM, 19 RTs were still inundated.

Floods in Jakarta, Rawajati Has Receded Completely

Of the 19 RTs, 15 were in South Jakarta and 4 were in West Jakarta a water level of about 10-70 cm.

"Especially in East Jakarta, no more puddles. The water has receded and people have returned to their homes since the afternoon," he stated, Monday (10/5).

Nevertheless, a number of streets were still inundated in West Jakarta, namely Jalan Musirin 1, Kedoya Selatan Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district with a water level of 10-20 cm.

"Therefore we urge the motorists to be careful. Residents can monitor directly via Twitter or Instagram belongs to Jakarta BPBD for the latest updates," he stated.
