Anies Inaugurates Acting Jakarta Secretary

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan inaugurated and lead the oath-taking ceremony of Acting Jakarta Secretary, Sri Haryati, at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (10/7).

He hopes the Acting Jakarta Secretary can carry out her duties as well as possible for three months or until the Jakarta Secretary was appointed through an open election process which currently underway.

He conveyed that the tasks assigned to the Acting Jakarta Secretary is not an easy task because it is mandated to carry out the tasks in the midst of pandemic.

"First, is health crisis due to COVID-19 and Jabodetabek is one of the biggest epicenter. Second, is the weak economy condition. Third, is the dynamic social condition in the days ahead. Moreover, within these months, government discuss the changes of City Budget (APBD) 2020 and planning for APBD 2021. It means no time to take a break. You have to move quickly and Alhamdulillah during these three weeks, as the acting Jakarta Secretary, you have work fast with the entire ranks. I hope it can be maintained well thus we can face all the challenges ahead of us," he stated in his remarks as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

He also explained that the inauguration of Acting Jakarta Secretary was carried out due to the vacancy of Jakarta Secretary's position which formerly taken by the late Saefullah who died on Wednesday (9/16). The Acting Regional Secretary is regulated in several regulations, namely:

1. Presidential Regulation No. 3/2018 on Acting Regional Secretary;

2. Regulation of Home Affairs Minister of Republic of Indonesia No. 91/2019 on the Appointment of Acting Regional Secretary;

3. Letter of Jakarta Governor No. 352/-082.7 on September 23, 2020. Subject: Request for Recommendation on Acting Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province;

4.Letter of Home Affairs Minister of Republic of Indonesia No. 821/5423/SJ on September 30, 2020. Subject: Approval of Appointment of the Acting Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province;

5. Jakarta Governor's Decree No. 1010/2020 on the Appointment as Appointment as Acting Regional Secretar y of DKI Jakarta Province.

"I hope the Acting Jakarta Secretary can carry out her tasks optimally. This is a challenging period but we believe that the challenges must be within our capabilities. Thus we believe that the Acting Jakarta Secretary can carry out her duties as well as possible. She is expected to be a bridge between ranks thus they can coordinate well,"

He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all Forkopimda officials who attended the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony of Acting Jakarta Secretary. Their presence is expected to show the solidity of all elements in Jakarta to jointly face the challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
