Jakarta Government cooperates with Indonesian Food Safety Professionals Association (APKEPI) holds training and certification for food handlers.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, food handlers are required to have competence to handle food safely while maintaining health protocols
Training for Food Handlers will be carried out on October 1-24, 2020 with total 816 participants from Jakpreneurs managed by various SKPDs, including food handlers in hotels, restaurants, and catering business.
Jakarta Parekraf Agency Acting Head (Plt), Gumilar Ekalaya mentioned, this training is carried out virtually, but competency certification test will be carried out face-to-face.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, food handlers are required to have competence to handle food safely while maintaining health protocols," he stated, Thursday (10/8).
The material provided in this training, he informed, is related to food safety and hygiene. There are 50 participants in each training sessions. While for competency certification test, it is limited only for 10 participants a day.
He considered the training and competency certification test for food handlers are very beneficial for food business services to gain customers trusts because the food is served in hygiene and healthy manner, and safe for consumption.
"We hope this training and certification test can make food handlers to understand the proper way in handling food," he conveyed.
